As American institutions undergo significant transformation, local leaders within and beyond government must adapt their approach to strengthening civic infrastructure and find new ways to increase trust in democratic institutions.

At the 2025 National Conference on Citizenship (September 16th in Washington DC), we will create space for honest and wide-reaching dialogue about how we can increase civic resilience as we wade into uncharted territory. Together, we’ll explore critical questions and forge new relationships to navigate these challenges together:

  • How can we modernize and strengthen local civic infrastructure during periods of change?
  • What strategies are communities finding effective to maintain and increase civic engagement?
  • How do we build and retain civic leadership capacity through professional development and networking?
  • In what ways can we preserve and innovate civic data systems to enhance transparency and public trust?
  • Where should we look to effectively measure our progress in improving civic health?

Join us to share experiences, build networks, and strengthen our collective capacity for adaptation.

We would like to hear your panel suggestions, speaker ideas and your questions that will help us shape this year’s conference. We’ll be sending more details next week.
