Veterans demonstrate higher levels of civic engagement than non-veterans on all civic health indicators available in the latest data. For the second consecutive year, the data reveals that veterans are more likely than non-veterans to vote, contact public officials, volunteer, give to charity, work with neighbors to fix community problems, and attend public meetings.
Veterans are continuing to return home to strengthen our communities – they are thinking globally and acting locally as leaders and civic assets.
