This year, for the first time, the Conference is being held outside Washington DC. The 2011 Conference will consist of a series of events to be held during Citizenship week, beginning September 15 in Philadelphia and culminating September 22-23 in Arizona.
The 2009 National Conference on Citizenship, an annual event that focuses on the state of civic engagement in America, is being held September 9 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Library of Congress. Themed “Sustainable Impact: A Civic Return on Investment,” the conference will challenge the ways return on investment are usually evaluated by exploring how public engagement can lift us out of the tough times our country is facing.
