Min Li Chan (she/her) is an essayist and a technologist based in Oakland, California. Prior to New_ Public, Min Li worked at Alphabet/Google for over a decade, most recently as the product lead on the user experience for Waymo’s self-driving cars. She has also worked on cloud computing laptops, web browsers, podcasting platforms, and tools for citizen cartography, among other products and speculative technologies, from initial prototypes to launch and early-stage growth. Min Li holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and an MFA in Creative Writing, and MA in English from Northwestern University’s Litowitz program. She was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
