March 10, 2024 – Civic Learning Week begins today!
The National Conference on Citizenship is a proud partner of Civic Learning Week, a national effort to prioritize civic education in order to sustain and strengthen our constitutional democracy!
Civic Learning Week is an annual nonpartisan event that brings together students, educators, policymakers, and leaders in the public and private sectors to highlight and further energize the movement for civic education in states and communities across the nation.
As part of Civic Learning Week, we’re joining the Vermont Secretary of State and state legislators to focus on how to leverage the youth-focused findings from the first-ever Vermont Civic Health Index to strengthen the role young people play in our democracy. If you’re in the state, here’s more information on how to join us in person!
If you’re not in Vermont, there are other ways you can join us in this movement to make civic education a nationwide priority:
- Attend a Civic Learning Week event: Find one near you using the event map or search for an online event.
- Spread the word: Forward this email, text a friend, and/or post to social, asking your network to join you in making civic learning a nationwide priority. Be sure to use #CivicLearningWeek in all of your social media posts.
Thank you for your continued work to advance democracy and civic learning in America.
