The National Conference on Citizenship (NCoC) seeks a Fundraising Grants Manager to research funding opportunities, develop written proposals and oversee the pipeline and process for raising programmatic and core support for the organization.

Fundraising Grants Manager Role and Responsibilities:
The Fundraising Grants Manager should be a dynamic individual with 3 or more years of experience sourcing grants and producing the required application materials. As an independent team member, you will report to and work closely with the CEO to identify and pursue new opportunities for philanthropic funding for our civic mission. With strong organizational and communications skills, you will be able to learn and convey the value and impact of our programs that measure civic health, understand the data and gaps in our civic discourse online, expand our role in gathering and analyzing civic data, and convening the civic engagement field to increase impact. With your exceptional skills as a writer, you will manage a pipeline of active and prospective funders to grow revenue and be an expert advisor for NCoC’s leadership.
Research
- Use funding best practices and tools to develop a portfolio of prospective funders across the civic ecosystem into a pipeline of corporate, government and foundation supporters
- Expand and refine a database and tracking system of current and prospective funders to support ongoing relationship management
Writing
- Gain program and operational insights, compile content, prepare proposal and application language, and copy edit all materials for grant proposals and applications for the organization and its programs
- Meet with program directors and other team members to maintain ongoing awareness of program development and needs
- Provide guidance for grant reporting in alignment with grant requirements and insights from program directors
- Leverage emerging trends in civic engagement, democracy data gathering and dissemination, and civic discourse analysis to craft compelling grant proposals
Project Management
- Work closely with CEO to manage donor portfolio and monitor funder relationship life cycles; and manage compliance tracking with Chief Grants Compliance Officer
- Manage application and proposal deadlines and deliverables with appropriate team members
- Work with CEO to create capacity-building strategies for additional development opportunities in annual and major giving
- In collaboration with the CEO, work to cultivate, develop and steward relationships with external stakeholders and donors to increase resources for general operations, annual conference and NCoC programs
Qualities we look for in an ideal candidate:
- 3 or more years of experience writing and applying for grants of $100,000 or more
- Ability to write and generate ideas independently
- Confidence and capacity to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent judgment and problem solving skills

- Commitment to civic engagement, public purpose work and the mission, vision and values of NCoC.
