The National Conference on Citizenship (NCoC) is seeking a National Service Program Specialist to execute and support an outreach strategy to engage nonprofit organizations and state and local governments to participate in the National Service Certification System (NSCS). The Specialist will be responsible for coordinating with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) on programmatic matters and support the development of a vibrant network of National Service partners and users of the NSCS. The Specialist should have: several years of progressively responsible programmatic experience at the federal or state level; deep knowledge and understanding of Americorps and the principles of national service; compelling writing, editing, and verbal skills; understanding of national service trends; a track record of proven success within an entrepreneurial, innovative environment with multiple lines of accountability. The Specialist will report to the Program Director for National Service. NCoC is a congressionally chartered organization with a proud history of convening the civic engagement field and of advancing civic strategies through research, measurement, and facilitation. NSCS is a web-based technology platform and related applications that will form the central means by which organizations receive approval to become part of national service certification; companies and individuals sponsor positions; individuals search for and rate opportunities; and organizations and corps members (and alumni) remain connected as part of a community. NCoC, in collaboration with the Franklin Project at the Aspen Institute, will be developing and implementing the NSCS platform. We value excellence, creativity, and initiative. Position responsibilities include: • Coordinate and serve as a liaison to CNCS and other national service coalition partners • Assist in the development of programmatic aspects of the National Service platform • Work closely with Program Advisory Committee • Develop and execute outreach plans to recruit potential platform users • Create training materials to support platform users • Represent NCoC and the NSCS at meetings and events • Develop and maintain partnerships with key associations, educational institutions, local government, and membership organizations • Communication/technical assistance with organizations undergoing the certification process • Work with communications team to generate excitement and energy around the NSCS mission and activities • Support development director in fundraising efforts as needed, which may include drafting of proposals and completion of grant reports
